Chief Minister should appeal to people of Himachal to help flood affected: Shanta Kumar
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shanta Kumar, expressed his congratulations to the state government and all the workers involved in the relief efforts for their efforts in rescuing and rehabilitating the thousands of people affected by the recent floods in Himachal.
Dharamsala, July 14, 2023: In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shanta Kumar, expressed his congratulations to the state government and all the workers involved in the relief efforts for their efforts in rescuing and rehabilitating the thousands of people affected by the recent floods in Himachal.
Shanta Kumar made a special request to Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister, urging that priority be given to providing assistance to the poorest victims of the flood.
“Help will also come from the Government of India, but CM HP should appeal to the people of Himachal to cooperate for relief. I am sure that the people of Himachal will give full cooperation”, wrote ex-CM Shanta Kumar. He has also sent a cheque of Rs one lakh on his behalf to the Chief Minister along with his letter.
Shanta Kumar said that some people of the state are coming forward for help. SJVN(Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam} has sent an aid amount of 55 lakhs to the government.
Adding, Shanta said that he has also requested the Government of India to make arrangements to release the maximum amount to Himachal Pradesh at the earliest and appealed to the people of Himachal to extend maximum help to the flood victims.
