Chief Minister Sukhu inaugurates development projects worth Rs.205 Crore in Kangra District
In a significant move towards enhancing the welfare of orphans and the destitute, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led the groundbreaking ceremony for the ambitious Sukh Ashray Adarsh Gram Parisar project, earmarked at a whopping Rs. 92.38 crore, at Luthan within the Jawalamukhi assembly constituency of Kangra district. This modern residential campus, envisioned under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Ashray Yojna, promises a new dawn of hope and comfort for its beneficiaries, offering them a nurturing environment equipped with the latest amenities.
Dharamshala, February 8, 2024: In a significant move towards enhancing the welfare of orphans and the destitute, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led the groundbreaking ceremony for the ambitious Sukh Ashray Adarsh Gram Parisar project, earmarked at a whopping Rs. 92.38 crore, at Luthan within the Jawalamukhi assembly constituency of Kangra district. This modern residential campus, envisioned under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Ashray Yojna, promises a new dawn of hope and comfort for its beneficiaries, offering them a nurturing environment equipped with the latest amenities.
The Chief Minister's visit to the constituency was marked by a series of inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies, heralding a new era of development and prosperity for the region. Among the notable projects inaugurated were the enhancement and augmentation works of various lift water supply schemes, valued at Rs. 38.17 crore, and the newly completed police station building in Jawalamukhi, which saw an investment of Rs. 5.50 crore. Additionally, the event witnessed the unveiling of the additional accommodation building for the Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), completed at a cost of Rs. 2.13 crore, and a Rs. 14.35 crore marriage palace-cum-parking facility for the temple trust at the revered Jawalaji Shakti Peeth.
Further amplifying the developmental momentum, Chief Minister Sukhu laid the foundation stones for several key infrastructure projects. These included irrigation projects under the HP Shiva initiative, projected at Rs. 27.30 crore; the Rajiv Gandhi Model Day Boarding School at Banu-Da-Khu, with an estimated cost of Rs. 5 crore; and a Multipurpose Hall at the Government Degree College, to be built with an outlay of Rs. 7.82 crore. The channelization of Khara Nala is set to undergo with a budget of Rs. 4.18 crore, alongside the construction of an Inspection Hut for the Jal Shakti Vibhag, costing Rs. 2.05 crore. Moreover, the foundation for seven tube wells in the Bharoli and Jawalamukhi areas was laid, with a total investment of Rs. 5.91 crore.
Throughout his impactful one-day visit, Chief Minister Sukhu dedicated eleven transformative projects to the constituency, cumulatively worth over Rs. 205 crore. This spree of development initiatives underscores the state government's commitment to fostering growth, enhancing public amenities, and improving the quality of life for the people of Kangra district, setting a benchmark for holistic development in the region.
