Chief Secretary directs officials to speed up recruitment process for over 26,000 government jobs in Punjab
Holds a review meeting with senior officials of various departments
Chandigarh, September 15, 2022: Aiming to generate maximum employment for youth of Punjab, the Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua has emphasized on speeding up the recruitment process of over 26, 000 government jobs in a meeting with the top officials of various departments.
He said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is creating many employment opportunities for the youth of Punjab from day one after forming the government. In order to prevent the youth from going abroad in absence of employment, the Chief Secretary squarely instructed to all departments to complete the recruitment in a time-bound manner to achieve the goal of providing employment to maximum number of youth in Punjab as desired by the CM Mann.
He said that special attention should be given to the completion of the recruitment process in all the departments in time so that maximum number of boys and girls can be given employment opportunities. He unequivocally directed concerned officials to ensure that the entire recruitment process should be carried out in a transparent manner.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary was informed that the recruitment process is going on for 26,454 posts in different 24 departments. Among the departments where the recruitment is underway includes Home Department (Police), School Education (Teacher Recruitment), Health, Power, Technical Education, Finance Department, Rural Development, Cooperative Department and Water Supply Department.
The Chief Secretary said that with the new recruitment, where young men and women will get employment, the performance of the government will be nourished at the administrative level as well. With the new recruitment, government work will be done more efficiently and swiftly. The Chief Secretary asked officials to resolve any issue pertaining to employment process on the spot and also asked the officers for timely recruitment.
