Children’s Day celebrated with great avidity at HMV Collegiate School

Jalandhar, November 15, 2021: Fun and Frolic was at the pinnacle in the celebrations of Children’s Day organized in the premises of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School under the able stewardship of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The day marks the birthday of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister was cherished in utter merriment with the participation of the students in plethora of activities like singing, dancing, reciting poetry. The event was commenced with lighting of lamp and the recitation of the Gayatri Mantra. To grace the occasion with divine aura, Arshia of SSC-I Arts sang a mellifluous hymn, after that Kashish Handa of SSC-I Arts presented her views on the significance of Children’s Day and remembered fondly Chacha Nehru. Maninder of SSC-I Commerce recited her self-composed poem on the life of student which every student enjoyed there as it was so relatable to them. The motivational poem “Let no one steal your dreams” was recited wonderfully by Khushi of SSC-I, Commerce, Deepanshi of  SSC-I, Arts and Jayshree of SSC-I, Commerce also created poetical aura with their recitation of poetry. The most mesmerizing performance was given by Angel of SSC-I Arts with her singing accompanied with the strings of her guitar. Avneet of SSC-I, Commerce presented the folk dance of Punjab-Bhangra & Giddha and Parjinder and Kajal of SSC-I, Arts did folk dance. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen in gleeful gesture appreciated the students and wished them Happy Children’s Day. She said that Pt. Nehru’s life inspires us profusely to tackle every situation with a smile on the face and always keep alive the childlike innocence in heart to praise the wonders of life. School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal said that children of today will determine the future of country and in order to make it brighter the students should work on their skills. She emphasized on experiential learning which is built by these sorts of events that create self-confidence and become the platform for the young students to display their latent talent. The stage was conducted by Mrs. Veena Arora. All the faculty members were present there.
