Christian Medical College & Hospital Conducts 3rd Transplant Infectious Diseases Conference

Ludhiana, October 7, 2016: To create increased awareness about Transplant Infectious Diseases and to educate the medical community regarding the recent treatment advances for infections in transplant recipients Christian Medical College, Ludhiana organized the 3rd Transplant Infectious Diseases conference in association with Christian Medical College, Vellore under the aegis of Indian Society of Organ Transplantation (ISOT) and Clinical Infectious Diseases Society (CIDS)
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Joseph John, Professor and Head, Clinical Hematology (Organising Secretary) expressed it as his privilege to have eminent experts with extensive experience from all over the world under one roof deliberating on various aspects of Transplant Infectious Diseases.

Addressing the audiences, Dr. Abraham G Thomas, Director, CMC Hospital, Ludhiana encouraged the audience and said that such events should be organized frequently as it brings fresh learning experience for everyone. Among other dignitaries Dr. Kim Mammen – Associate Director, Dr. William Bhatti – Medical Superintendent, Dr. Bobby John – Prinicipal, Dr. Mary John – Prof. & Head Medicine department, Dr. Priscilla Rupali – Prof. & Head Infectious Diseases (CMC, Vellore), Dr. Subramanian S., Associate Professor Medicine (Global Hospital, Chennai), Dr. George alangaden, Dr. Ajit limaye, Dr. Mayur Ramesh from USA were present.

Dr. Divya Deodhar, Associate Professor, Infectious Disease (Organising Secretary) told the audience that Transplant Infectious Disease is a unique specialty that relates to infections in the solid organ and bone marrow transplant populations. She thanked over 200 delegates who attended the conference beside Medical, Physiotherapy and Nursing students in addition to both national and international faculty.

Post graduate quiz contest invigorated the audience with the winners were awarded Rs.5000/-, Rs.2000/- and 1,500/- for first, second and third prize respectively.
