Ludhiana, August 7, 2015: Sh.Avtar Singh, President, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana in his inaugural speech emphasized that Indian Industry has a challenging time ahead which can sustain and grow by working hardly and smartly. Emotional intelligence is the ability to manage emotions in one’s self and in others in order to reach desired outcomes. It is the need of the hour to develop emotional intelligence so as to foster better relationship with people and increase the business, as business is all about relationships. Emotional intelligence has become well known throughout the business world as a crucial component of leadership effectiveness
Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary CICU welcomed the participants and said after Globalization of markets and liberalization of Indian economy, the Indian Industries have been experiencing stiff competition. This program will help the participants to discover the role emotions play in the conflict, learn to manage the emotional aspects of conflict, how to accurately read, what people are actually saying, handle difficult conversations & challenging situations and apply to real life situations.  It encourages   employees for taking responsibility for their performance and progress, helps set goals and direct efforts, provides opportunity for career development and improvement and assures fair individual evaluations.
The interactive & thought-provoking program was conducted by Capt S Jolly, an ex-armed forces person having immense experience in corporate training delivery. The program covered
meaning and value of emotional intelligence, explaining the EI Competency Framework, gaining personal insight into EI Competencies through a self-assessment, tools and techniques for increasing competence in the five domains of EI, using a variety of Leadership Styles to increase emotional competence and utilizing EI competencies and techniques in leadership roles.
More than 50 participants comprising proprietors, partners, managing directors, chief executive officers, general managers and HRD heads representing various industries attended this program and significant strategies emanated for enhancing efficiency and strengthening execution capabilities in organizations. The participants attained extensive knowledge on the subject and its implementation will definitely benefit industry.
