CICU Delegation meets DC Ludhiana to discuss Skill Development and Future tycoons start up event

Ludhiana, June 19, 2024: A Delegation of Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) comprising President Upkar Singh Ahuja, Gen Secy. Honey Sethi, Joint Secy. Dr. S.B. Singh and Finance Secy. Ajay Bharti met D.C. Ludhiana Sakshi Sahni to discuss Issues related to Skill Development, Maintenance of Parks in Focal Point and other Industrial Areas and Entrepreneurship issue.

DC Ludhiana Sakshi Sahni Shared her experience about Start up Event Future Tycoons initiated in Patiala during her Tenure, CICU delegation Assured to support Similar event in Ludhiana to give a boost to start-ups. It was decided that to promote Start-ups and new Entrepreneurs, a Program will be conducted in September 2024 to motivate new Entrepreneurs by giving Awards for best Ideas, sponsored by Industries.

Observations of Industry related to Skill Development were conveyed to the Local Team of Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM). It was suggested that Seats for those Skills should be Increased in Skill Development Centres for which there is acute shortage of Work Force in Industries i.e. Welders, Turner, Fitter, Electrician, Carpenter, Plumber, CNC Turning, Painter etc. It was decided to form a Committee with some members from Industries and others from Local Administration to address these concerns.
