CICU to hold interaction meeting with Dr. Roshan Sunkaria on Aug 11

Ludhiana, August 10, 2017: Avtar Singh, President, CICU and Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana said that CICU is holding an interaction meeting with Dr.Roshan Sunkaria, Principal Secretary, Department of Science Technology and Environment, Punjab and senior officials of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) on 11th August at CICU complex, Ludhiana.
The objective of the meeting is to control the pollution in industry in systematic and effective method & also to educate it members to control the pollution in a cost effective manner.
On the other side interact with Punjab Pollution Control Board officials is to simplify the procedure. CICU has prepared 15 point memorandum to address the various issues faced by industry such as:
• V.D.S. schemes
• Permanent consent for green category,
• Subsidy for purchase of implement for pollution control,
• promoting recycling of water & Treatment of Effluent through R.O. System
• Reducing charges for issue of consent,
• Waiver for submission of CLU & PTM for Consent.
• Speedy Setting up CETPs for Dyeing Industry.
• Setting up a committee to find new technology & procedures for pollution free manufacturing (Green Manufacturing).
• Publishing Latest Comprehensive Guidelines on Pollution Clearance for Industrial Units:
• Charges for Issue of Consent Based on Value of Machinery.
• Funding for Up-gradation of Infrastructure of Focal Point, Ludhiana.
• Allow constructions of Multi Storied Buildings for Industrial Units.
• Industrial Associations to be involved in Policies Formation.
• Effective working of Effluent Treatment Plant.
• Setting up of Focal point for Red Category Industries.
Interaction will be attended by top PPCB officials and prominent industrialist. It will help in controlling polluting and smoothen operations of the industry, said the CICU leaders.
