CICU holds Skill Mapping Session with BCG
Punjab Govt. has taken an initiative to provide skill-based trainings to students of Govt. Schools studying in 9th to 12th class during their summer vacations. To implement this project Govt. has hired Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and CICU has joined hands to provide support from industries side.
Ludhiana, June 28, 2023: Punjab Govt. has taken an initiative to provide skill-based trainings to students of Govt. Schools studying in 9th to 12th class during their summer vacations. To implement this project Govt. has hired Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and CICU has joined hands to provide support from industries side.
Regarding this, a meeting was called with Industry representatives and Human Resource Personnel from various sectors like Forging, Casting, Machining, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Fasteners, Cycle-parts, Sewing Machine, Auto parts, Tractor Parts, Agriculture Implements and other sector like Textiles, Hosiery & Garments (Clothing, Knitting, Spinning, Bedding, Furnishing, Fabric etc.) and deliberation were done to know the skill gap observed by industry. More than 60 HR Personnel of prominent industries participated in this interactive session.
Kavi Ahuja, and Bopanna from BCG briefed about the project activities and also noted down all the requirements related to skill conveyed by industry representatives.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU mentioned that Govt. of Punjab is doing their best initiative to provide Manpower to the industries under this Skill Mapping Programme, in which they are helping students to motivate for work after completion of their studies in their nearby areas, so this project can be able to bridge gap between industry requirements and availability.
S.B Singh, Joint Secretary, CICU assured BCG team that in future during implementation of this project also CICU will provide all support from industry side.
