Ludhiana, September 1, 2014: Avtar Singh, President, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) in a statement released today said that CICU is taking various initiatives to enhance global competitiveness of MSMEs. There is great value of calibration for industry which ensures that products are manufactured to specifications, demonstrates that industry operates the system which is technically competent for manufacturing accurate and high quality value products.
This calibration laboratory has been granted accreditation by National Accreditation Board for Testing Calibration Laboratory (NABL), Department of Science and Technology India. CICU-SSC Technical Centre already functioning at Gill Road Ludhiana is now well equipped and certified to provide high quality state of art calibration of mechanical instruments for engineering industries. The Calibration of Mechanical Instruments will sharpen competitive edge which is the need of the hour for growth and development of MSMEs in Punjab.
Upkar Singh Ahuja General Secretary CICU said that now a day’s calibration of instruments has become very essential for the industry. CICU is the only Chamber in North India to get accreditation of its Mechanical Calibration Lab from NABL. This accreditation is a badge of honor representing the highest standards so as to provide engineering industry quality calibration of instruments/devices. This will help industry in controlling cost of products and rejection of production. This initiative is a step towards achieving broader CICU objective to build and shine Ludhiana brand. Earlier industry has to incur huge cost for getting calibration of instruments. CICU will provide calibration services at a very nominal cost.
Both of them have appealed and urged upon all engineering industries in Punjab to avail the services of calibration lab as per their requirements and to meet out audit specifications for obtaining ISO/OS/TS/BIS etc. certifications.
