CICU Ludhiana to take action for fire safety of industrial units

To request Ministry of Local Bodies to strengthening of Fire Brigade in Punjab

Ludhiana, April 30, 2018: Upkar Singh Ahuja, President and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana in a joint statement said that the fire catching incidents in the Industrial Units is Increase in last one week has raised the alarm. Average 2-3 fire incidents are noted daily in Ludhiana Industries.

CICU has taken an initiative to engage the National Level Agencies to hold training and to audit and advice fine prevention measures for inflammable units like Plywood, Garments and Rubber etc. These Industries are very sensitive and action required instantly to control the fire as it starts and once fire blow up it’s very difficult to control. The agencies will train workers and Staff members how to control various type of fire in shortest span to minimize losses and set up fire prevention equipment’s at units.

On the other hand, CICU in his letter to Navjot Singh Sidhu, Minister Local Bodies to strengthening fire prevention services at prominent industrial towns of Punjab like mini fire tenders, fire resistant suits, fogging equipment’s, hydraulic platform upto 54 feet, oxygen masks, availability of modern firefighting equipment, engaging professionals to update the fire staff etc.
