CICU organised awareness session on ESG, Green House Gas Emission and Sustainability

Ludhiana, August 21, 2024: Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU, Ludhiana, recently hosted an insightful awareness session on the Evaluation of Current Greenhouse Gas Emissions. Attended by approximately 60 industry members, the session featured an address by Upkar Singh Ahuja, President of CICU, emphasizing the crucial role of sustainability actions in meeting evolving regulatory requirements and customer demands. Jetinder Nath and Dr. Jasleen Bhatti from CII ITC - CESD provided valuable insights into Sustainability, Climate Change actions, and introduced the CCAC tool, which generates personalized reports and certificates for registered members who complete the questionnaire.
 
The recommendations outlined in the generated reports aim to guide industry members in integrating climate change actions into their future planning and strategic initiatives. The joint effort by CICU, Ludhiana, and CII Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development aimed to raise awareness about Sustainability/ESG issues and support the initial base lining of GHG Emissions within the Ludhiana industry.
 
The session covered essential topics such as an Introduction to Sustainability and ESG Concepts, the Climate Action Charter (CCAC) Tool focusing on Greenhouse Gas Inventorization, and highlighted the features and importance of the CII Climate Action Charter Platform for the industry.
