CICU Organises industrial interaction with Chairman and Member Secretary PPCB


Industrial interaction being held at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana with Ravinder Singh, Chairman and Dr. Babu Ram, Member Secretary, PPCB to highlight the benefits of new PPCB Policy, on Tuesday.


Ludhiana, June 11, 2013: Industrial Interaction was held at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana with Ravinder Singh, Chairman and Dr. Babu Ram, Member Secretary, PPCB to highlight the benefits of new PPCB Policy.

Avtar Singh, General Secretary, welcomed Ravinder Singh and Dr. Babu Ram and thanked industrial leaders and industrialists for participating in this event. He said that this new PPCB policy is indeed hassle free and Industry friendly.

Upkar Singh, joint Secretary, CICU requested that number of schemes of  UNIDO, WTO and Central Pollution Control Board should be channelised for forming clusters.

Babu Ram, Member Secretary highlighted the main advantages of new Policy regarding Consent Management Authorisation. This policy is of 198 pages and is a real online policy which is offered by PPCB only. This policy is indeed hassle free and industry friendly.

Darshan Dabar from Knitwear Industry, K.K. Garg from Induction Furnish Association, Manjit Singh Khalsa, Chairman, UCPMA, Joginder Pal Jain from Electroplating Association, Avtar Singh, CEO, LETS, T.R. Mishra from Boiler Manufacturer Association, Charanjit Singh Vishavkarma, General Secretary, LETS, Ashok Makkar from Dyeing Industry Association and Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, UCPMA raised the issues related to their respective industries.

Ravinder Singh, Chairman, PPCB, replied on the issues raised by various speakers and assured them of positive actions on all these issues. He further requested the industrialists to follow the norms for the benefit of society and also appealed to take benefits of online registration.

Singh further highlighted that there is a time bound mechanism for giving consent. On demand he assured that Voluntary Discloser Scheme (VDS) will be launched very shortly in which there will be no punitive penalty. On finding a unit adhering to CPCB norms further checking frequency will be reduced on these units.

Singh announced that training on use of online registration will be provided by PPCB officials at CICU Skill Development Center, Gill road, Ludhiana for a period of about two months and all Industrialists should take benefit of this facility.

While presenting vote of thanks, Sh. S.B. Singh, Publicity Secretary, CICU thanked Ravinder Singh, Chairman for acceding to most of the issues raised by key Industrialists and also expected him to take pro active approach on other pending issues.

The event was attended by chairmen and presidents of various industrial associations and captains of industries namely G.S. Kahlon, Kulvinder Singh Benipal, Ram Labhaya, Avtar Singh Bhogal, Lalit Sharma, Manmohan Singh Ubhi, Phuman Singh, Inderjit Nagpal, Narinder Bhamra and Jaswinder Singh Birdi.
