CICU Organized Seventh and Eight League Matches of 5th T-20 Cricket Tournament - 2018

Ludhiana, November 5, 2018: Fifth CICU Corporate T-20 Cricket Tournament 2018 took a start on 14.10.2018 with great excitement. The tournament matches will be played on every Sunday, which is spread over period of 8+ weeks at Modern Cricket Stadiums at Village Duley, Adjacent to Phalahi Sahib Gurdwara on Dehlon Canal Bank on Ludhiana – Dehlon Road, Ludhiana, Village Sahni Near Sahnewal and Cricket Stadium GTB National College Dakha (Mullanpur). Eight Teams of different companies like M/s Aarti International Ltd, Citizen Press Components, New Swan Enterprises, Ludhiana Beverages, Highway Industries Ltd, Kundan Lal & Sons, Arisudana Industries Limited and Big Ben Exports have registered to play this Tournament. These Teams will be divided into two Groups and 3 League matches will be played by each team, followed by semifinals and final matches of the Tournament.

Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja President CICU welcomed the Participating Team and Cricket Lovers who have come in large numbers to enjoy the live cricket. He said that Ludhiana is full of cricket fans and a lot of enthusiasm is seen among youngsters for this tournament. Watching your sport live at the cricket ground is a fun filled and awesome experience. Sports are integral part of corporate team building and motivation. CICU endeavor is to build up a team spirit and develop expertise so as to help, support and grow corporate business to achieve new heights by shaping the industries of tomorrow. He also appreciated the participating teams for playing exciting & good cricket with discipline.

This Sunday i.e. 4th Nov. 2018, matches were played at Cricket Stadium of GTB National College Dakha, Ludhiana.

In the morning session, 7th league match was played between Teams of Citizen Press Components. & New Swan Enterprises. The toss was won by New Swan Enterprises Team and they decided to bat first. They scored 98 runs in 18.2 overs by losing 10 wickets. Chasing this Target, Citizen Press Components Team scored 99 runs in 18.3 overs by losing 8 wickets. The Match was won by Citizen Press Components by 1 Wickets. Mr. Rahul of Citizen Press Components was declared Man of the Match, who has taken 2 wickets by giving 10 runs in 4 overs and scored 12 runs in 19 balls.

In the evening session, 8th League match was played between Teams of Kundan Lal and Sons & Big Ben Exports. The toss was won by Big Ben Exports and they decided to bat first. They scored 125 runs in 15.1 overs by losing 10 wickets and Kundan Lal and Sons while chasing the target scored 103 runs in 19 overs by losing 10 wickets. Big Ben Exports won the match by 23 runs. Mr. Gurbax Singh of Big Ben Exports was declared Man of the Match, who scored 39 runs in 25 balls with 7 fours and 1 six.

The tournament is sponsored by leading companies like Ludhiana Beverages, Eazy ERP Technologies Private Limited, Highway Industries Ltd., Kusum Tradex Pvt. Ltd., New Swan Group, Nicks (India) Tools and Sangeeta Steel Corporation. Large number of the cricket lovers including staff and workers of the different companies and Top Management of playing teams enjoy the exciting cricket played by the teams.

Many cricket lovers including senior management persons and promoters of many companies like Sh. Kapil Gupta CMD and Smt. Anu Gupta Director of M/s Kundan Lal and Sons, Sh. Pankaj Sharma General Secretary CICU and Sh. N K Gupta Director CICU were present to enjoy the Live Match and motivate the Team’s Players.

Sh. Pankaj Sharma General Secretary CICU Congratulated the Winner Teams i.e. Citizen Press Components and Big Ben Exports. He further said that now cricket has become India’s national sport. Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings is proud to be hosting this Cricket Tournament. Playing cricket develops social skills, intellectual capacities & creativity and contributes a more disciplined attitude. He also appreciated the arrangements made at the Cricket ground by CICU Cricket Tournament Management Committee.
