CICU organized thrilling indoor sports carnival

The Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) once again lived up to its reputation of hosting exceptional events, this time in collaboration with Gursimar Somal from Somal Refractories and Ashwani Kumar Goyal, MD of Cute Cycles. The Indoor Sports Carnival, brought together a fun-filled day of Table Tennis, Chess, and Carrom.

Ludhiana, August 25, 2024: The Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) once again lived up to its reputation of hosting exceptional events, this time in collaboration with Gursimar Somal from Somal Refractories and Ashwani Kumar Goyal, MD of Cute Cycles. The Indoor Sports Carnival, brought together a fun-filled day of Table Tennis, Chess, and Carrom.

The program commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the National Anthem. Participants were grouped according to different age categories, ensuring a competitive and engaging experience for all.

The event witnessed remarkable enthusiasm from players. 

Gurpreet Singh secured the Gold prize and Harpreet Singh won the Silver medal in Carrom board game. In Chess Lakshay Madaan, Ram Ahluwalia, and Jasbir Singh won Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes, respectively. In table tennis under boys 11 Kartik Bassi and Harjas won second runner up trophy. Gold and Silver trophy bagged by Rudra and Sachin respectively. Under13 girls event Aarna Malhotra was winner of Gold, Shanaya Silver, Anushka and Kashvi took second runner up trophy. Under 13 boys event  Eddi got gold medal, Hiren got Silver and Harjas and Sachin secured second runner up position. Under Veteran Category Manjeet Singh received Gold, Dr. Anupreet Singh Silver, Jaswinder Singh Moti and Vanshdeep secured Second runner up trophies.

A total of 42 prizes were awarded across various events, including Table Tennis for under 11, 13, 15, 19, men & women, and Veterans categories.

CICU President, Upkar Singh Ahuja, emphasized the significance of games in improving mental skills, promoting physical health, and fostering sportsmanship. He assured that CICU would continue to organize such activities in the future.

The event's success was a testament to CICU's commitment to promoting a culture of sports and camaraderie among its members and the community. 

During this event Honey Sethi General Secretary, Gautam Malhotra Vice- President, Saravjit Singh Vice- President, Akashdeep Bassi Vice- President, Sanjay Dhiman Vice- President and Ajay Bharti Finance Secretary of CICU were also present.
