Ludhiana, October 5, 2012: Avtar Singh, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana in a statement issued today said that in order to groom young entrepreneurs to contribute for the growth and development of MSMEs, more than 45 young professionals of CICU-Young Business Leaders Forum today visited Rockman Industries and held interactive meeting with Suman Kant Munjal, Managing Director and Arvind Gupta, Chief Operating Officer Rockman Industries.

The overarching objective is to build a critical mask of high profile professionals and entrepreneurs that will eventually bring about concrete business growth as-well-as work towards effecting the necessary changes for promotion of trade and industry.

Upkar Singh, Joint Secretary, CICU said that these young entrepreneurs are readying them to be movers and shakers to make a positive impact on modern industrialisation. “Our forum seeks to provide its members with an opportunity to meet, exchange thoughts and converse with key industrial personalities”, he said, adding, “We are looking to develop and realise concrete projects, activities and joint ventures among the forum’s members as-well-as beyond”.

Adding, he said they have realised that there is strong need to cultivate the younger generation’s participation in decision making.

Suman Kant Munjal appreciated the efforts of CICU and shared business insights with these young professionals. He explained that from a humble effort to localise Bicycle Chains and Hubs in early 60’s to Worlds Largest Producer, Today they are one of leading partners in Aluminum Die Casting, Machined and Painted Assemblies to Hero MotoCorp, the Largest Manufacturer of Two Wheels in the World. Besides being Customer Centric, a company has to keep innovating, facilitating change, adopting world-class manufacturing and management practices.

Further, he said,” We at Rockman, are always striving and challenging conventions to exceed our customer’s expectations in terms of quality, cost, development and delivery. Our biggest strength to achieve rapid growth especially during the last 5 years has been a unique work culture always willing to learn and proactively contribute towards common goal of achieving excellence and high level of customer satisfaction”.

CICU leader said CICU is working with a broader objective to building up “Made-in-Ludhiana” Brand.  CICU-YBL Members can be instrumental in fulfilling the objective as they are well qualified, experienced and energetic. 

Adding, they said CICU plans to conduct number of seminars, educational programmes, factory visits, foreign visits, technical sessions to groom CICU YBL members as they are ambassadors of industries and industries have high hopes on them.
