CII Ludhiana Zone gets new leadership for 2023-2024
Rishi Pahwa takes over as Chairman and Lokesh Jain as Vice-Chairman
Ludhiana, February 25, 2023: In its Annual Session for 2022-2023 in Ludhiana, CII Ludhiana Zone unanimously elected to Rishi Pahwa, Joint Managing Director, Avon Cycles Ltd and Lokesh Jain, Partner, T K Steels as its Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively.
Ashwin Nagpal, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Ludhiana & Managing Partner, Haveli Ram Bansi Lal in a ceremony, handed over the chairmanship of the Zone to Rishi Pahwa, Joint Managing Director, Avon Cycles Ltd.
Highlighting the work done by CII in the last year, he said, “CII has played a huge role in keeping the local industry, particularly the small businesses, to run their operations smoothly during the two major waves of the pandemic. Through our constant advocacy to the government, we have been able to provide a conducive environment for businesses and entrepreneurs to practice ease of doing business in Punjab.”
Congratulating the new leadership, he shared that CII must pursue the pre-proposed initiatives with the Administration in Ludhiana Zone. Having initiated discussions with the government, he passed over the beacon to the new Chairman to further foresee this initiative.
Rishi Pahwa, Joint Managing Director, Avon Cycles Ltd., was elected as the Chairman, CII Ludhiana Zone, and thanked CII for having faith in his vision to lead Ludhiana. He highlighted the need for employment generation in local industries as “Vocal for Local” has induced confidence in the minds of both local manufacturers and Indian consumers. Stressing on the importance of scaling manpower, he expressed his views on engaging the people up to the hilt.
He said, “CII in Ludhiana should focus on maintaining its strongest pillars, reinforcing industry's commitment to society and sustainability and mentioned the importance of skilling the manpower as it acts like a catalyst for the development of industries.”
Lokesh Jain, Partner, T K Steels, was elected as the Vice-Chairman for the CII Ludhiana Zone. In line with the Chairman’s views, he expressed the need for sustainability, growth and reinforcing industry’s commitment to the society. Stressing on the importance of sustainability he mentioned - initiating the use of PNG as the fuel is environment friendly. He further added- Ludhiana and Jalandhar are twin cities of Punjab and are major industrial and commercial hubs with very high-volume potential for PNG.
He said, “CII in Ludhiana shall focus on CII’s sustainability vision to catalyse innovative ideas and solutions, in India, and globally, to enable business, and its stakeholders, in sustainable value creation.”
Speaking on the occasion, PJ Singh, Vice Chairman, CII Punjab & Chairman & Managing Director Tynor Orthotics Pvt Ltd, laid emphasis on innovations and importance of adapting the modern technologies for the industry to reach the zenith. "By implementing new technologies industries not only get the feedback from the society but also gets an opportunity to think about better strategies to implement," he said.
