CII Ludhiana Zone organised Interactive Workshop on Angel Investment

Ludhiana, April 27, 2023: CII Ludhiana Zone Organised Interactive Workshop on Angel Investment for their members in collaboration with Innovation Mission Punjab and Succeed Indovation Ventures at Avon Cycles Ltd, premises today wherein around 40 plus CII members attended the same. 

In the opening remarks, Rishi Pahwa, Chairman, CII, Ludhiana Zone and JMD Avon Cycles Limited shared his thoughts about the increased awareness & understanding required about the Start Up EcoSystem in Punjab to avail various incentives available under law. He shared about the strength & absorption lying within Punjab economy for new age ventures. Angel Investments in startups should be made only after carefully analysing the financials, market necessity, forecasted results, profitability and technology usage, he added.

Vikrant Varshney, Managing Partner -Succeed Indovation Ventures and Somveer Anand CEO-Innovation Mission Punjab presided over the session. Members from the industry actively participated in the session to understand the nuances of angel investment in startups. Somveer also shared about the upcoming promising Start Up ecosystem of Punjab.

Lokesh Jain, Vice Chairman, CII Ludhiana and Partner – TK Steels shared that such sessions should be organised more often since they help in holistic deliberation over the ever-changing landscape of our economy. Further, he emphasized on the importance of analysing the data before jumping in with any investment in a start up.

During the session, discussion ranged from contributions brought in by Innovation Mission Punjab, Funding and Market Landscape in the Start Up sector, fundamental principles of making Angel Investment etc.
 

Randeep Bhogal from M/S Bhogal Sales Corporation &, Convenor, CII Ludhiana Zone apprised about the development of startup ecosystem in Punjab and shared that Punjab has the capacity of becoming number one state in Punjab, with adequate support and coordination of the government and industry. He added, that Punjab holds immense strata of energetic youth whose energy can be channelised in start-ups. 

CA. Abhilash Aneja, Programe co-ordinator, highlighted the importance of understanding new investment frameworks but also cautioned about the inherent risk such investments carry.
