CII Northern Region Successfully Hosts 37th Regional Quality Circle Competition

CII Northern Region concluded the 37th Regional Quality Circle (QC) Competition with great success at the CII NR Headquarters in Chandigarh today. Held over two days, the event brought together 32 Quality Circle teams and over 250 participants from prominent organizations across the region.

Chandigarh, December 13, 2024: CII Northern Region concluded the 37th Regional Quality Circle (QC) Competition with great success at the CII NR Headquarters in Chandigarh today. Held over two days, the event brought together 32 Quality Circle teams and over 250 participants from prominent organizations across the region.
 
This year’s competition emphasized advanced problem-solving approaches, with teams employing tools such as multimedia, animations, and models to demonstrate their technical acumen. The presentations also highlighted the participants’ creativity and collaborative spirit, underscoring the growing relevance of quality circles in fostering organizational excellence.
 
Participants hailed from some of the most respected organizations, including Bharat Electronics Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Daikin Air-Conditioning India Pvt Ltd, and Mahindra & Mahindra - Swaraj Division, among others. Each team shared its journey of resolving complex workplace challenges, reflecting the transformative power of innovation-driven teamwork.
 
An esteemed panel of judges brought their expertise to the fore, including Ms Seema Soni, CEO, Osaka Consultancy, and Mr Rajagopal RG, Managing Director, Otifas Group. They assessed the teams on parameters such as problem identification, solution execution, and the effective use of QC tools.
 
The valedictory session, graced by Mr Vikram Hans, Past Chairman, CII Chandigarh UT, and Mr Taranjeet Bhamra, Vice Chairman, CII Chandigarh UT, served as a fitting conclusion to the competition. Both speakers lauded the innovation and enthusiasm displayed by the participants while encouraging the inclusion of sectors like FMCG, EVs, and energy to broaden the competition’s impact.
 
Special acknowledgment was given to all-women teams, whose stellar contributions underscored the growing inclusivity within the QC framework.
 
The competition culminated in the recognition of standout teams:
 
•    Winner: LAGAN from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Gurgaon
•    1st Runners-Up: ICONIC from Daikin Air-Conditioning India Pvt Ltd, Neemrana, and TOP NOTCH from Honda Cars India Ltd, Tapukhera
•    2nd Runners-Up: AURA from Bharat Electronics Ltd, Ghaziabad, PRECISION PIONEERS from Napino Auto & Electronics Ltd, Manesar, and UJALA Team from Mahindra & Mahindra - Swaraj Division, Mohali

Consolation prizes were awarded to several teams, including those from Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt Ltd and Swaraj Engines Limited, among others, for their notable efforts and innovative approaches.

The competition highlighted the critical role of quality circles in enabling organizations to identify and address operational challenges innovatively.
