Citizens’ body to hold Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary celebrations
Ludhiana, October 21, 2019: The Ludhiana Citizen Welfare Society in collaboration with Omaxe Limited will hold several activities from October 28 till November 3 as a part of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. 
These activities will be held at Omaxe Royal Residency situated on the Pakhowal Road on the outskirts of the city.
President of the Society Vineet Handa said in a press release issued today that the celebrations will start with a Marathon on October 26 at 6 AM. It will start from B7 Chowk Pakhowal Road and will conclude at Omaxe Royal Residency after covering a 5 KM distance.
Society’s Sports Secretary Pankaj Saxena said that in these activities a sports carnival is being organized October 28 to 30. He said in this, children and youths between age groups of 8 to 20 years will be participating in differnt games like Basket Ball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Cycle Race, Skating, Athletics and Indian Martial Arts. He said that the sports carnival will be followed by Bhangra and Gidhha folk dances by the members of Ladies Club Omaxe. Winners and Runner up will be awarded by Police Commissioner Ludhiana and other distinguished personalities of Ludhiana Administration and Government of Punjab.
Society’s president Vineet Handa said that a Nagar Kirtan be taken out on October 31 at 3 PM which will start from Omaxe Entry Gate and will cover 3 KM inside township of Omaxe in the presence of Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu and Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu. Other Guests of Honour will be Ludhiana Mayor Balkar Singh, MLA Kuldip Singh Vaid, MLA Surinder Dawar, ex-MLA Malkit Singh Dakha, ex-MP Amrik Singh Aliwal and Chairman Omaxe Ltd Rohtas Goyal.
There will be Military Band and other bands along with elephants and horses to welcome Panj Piaras. Winners of Sports Carnival will get Trophy from former Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal.
