City Bags 24 awards in 7th NAEP 2012

Ludhiana, September 18, 2012: The 7th National Awards- Karigiri for Excellence in Printing (NAEP) was recently held at New Delhi.

The function was hosted by offset printers association( OPA)Ludhiana .  The awards were constituted by All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP). The function was sponsored by RICOH India.
This time, Ludhiana printing units brought laurels for the city by bagging. 24 awards out of which  7 were gold medals, 9 silver and the rest bronze awards.
National Awards for Excellence in Printing have been awarded to The Cranials Printers got 4 medals, , Swastik Print O Flex got 2 medals, Active print and stick got one medal while Macro printers, Usha enterprises and Pal box factory also got one each medal while Kuvam printo pack  and Print crafts got 2 each medals. Jot linkers, swastika print O printers,  Manav printers, Vinayak printers, BBF industries limited, Devyanshi arts, Jain packwell limited, Newmatic printers,  Roop rang printing press and Anjani labels got one medal each
These awards were given in a gala function held at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.
On the occasion, the Chief Guest was Dr. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Power.
A total of 1,638 entries were received by the AIFMP in different categories like brochures & catalogues, books printing, posters, calendars, newspapers, diaries, packaging material, digital printing etc. The main categories included Offset Printing, Screen Printing, Flexography, Gravure and Digital Printing. These entries had also been divided into small, medium and Large categories.  

The highest number of entries were received from Mumbai, -followed by Kolkata, New Delhi and Ludhiana. Out of the total 1638 entries, 594 were from North India, informed Kamal Chopra, organising secretary of 7th NAEP, AIFMP.
The jury for the selection of awards was: Prof Rajendra Kumar Anayath,( head- PMA- Heidelberg India), Kiran P Prayagi,( partner, graphic arts technology and Education) and Subhasis Ganguli,( Vice-President production and content management Pearson Publishing).
This was one of the biggest awards in the print industry recognised by Govt. of India, which was hosted by Offset Printers Association (OPA), said Manoj Mehta, Chairman 7thAIFMP, NAEP 2012
