Civil and Police Officials sensitize school Bus drivers on road safety  

As part of a campaign to raise awareness about road safety Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Kuldeep Bawa along with ACP Traffic Gurpreet Singh today sensitized drivers of school buses, heavy vehicles, two-wheelers, at Samrala Chowk on Tuesday.

Ludhiana, January 13, 2025: As part of a campaign to raise awareness about road safety Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Kuldeep Bawa along with ACP Traffic Gurpreet Singh today sensitized drivers of school buses, heavy vehicles, two-wheelers, at Samrala Chowk on Tuesday. 

They also distributed 150 helmets to drivers who were not wearing headgears. These helmets were provided by the NGO Roots, Mohali. Additionally, reflectors were installed on various vehicles. 

The Secretary of the RTA and ACP Traffic educated drivers of auto-rickshaws, two-wheelers, four-wheelers, school buses and other vehicles about traffic norms to help reduce road accidents. They emphasized that adhering to traffic rules can significantly lower the risk of mishaps and save lives. Drivers were encouraged to comply with traffic regulations, heed signboards, respect speed limits, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and ensure the regular maintenance of their vehicles. 

The school bus drivers were specifically informed about the guidelines set forth by the Punjab and Haryana High Court during the program.
