CIVIL SURGEON FLAGS OFF MOBILE VAN TO CHECK TB PATIENTS

CB KNOT MACHINE FITTED IN VAN TO CARRY FREE CHECKUP OF PATIENTS

Ludhiana, July 31, 2018: The mobile van sent by the State Health Department has reached Ludhiana. Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu flagged off this van, that would pass through various parts of the district till August 4, 2018 and would carry free checkup for TB patients. He informed that a CB Knot machine has been fitted in this van, through which free checkup of suspected TB patients can be carried out in the van itself. And if any person is found to be positive, he would be treated by the health department, he would be provided medicine totally free of cost from the health centre close to his house.

He informed that the van visited the Vehra’s and slum areas in Sahnewal today. On August 1 & 2, 2018, this van would visit Shimlapuri, Daba, Lohara and Janta Nagar areas. On August 4, 2018, it would visit Basti Jodhewal area as well as the Central Jail area. Dr Sidhu informed that the inmates and undertrials of Central Jail would be checked through CB Knot machine and if any person is found positive for TB, free medicine would be provided to him in the jail premises itself.

Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Balwinder Singh, District TB Officer Dr Ashish Chawla and Chest Specialist Dr Harpreet Singh Bains were also present.
