Cleanliness Drive by NSS and IPI during Cyanide 2024 Cultural Fest
Chandigarh: In line with the words of Benjamin Disraeli, "Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct; they are matters of education, and like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them," the Indian Plastics Institute (IPI) Student Chapter Chandigarh, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organised a successful cleanliness drive during the annual cultural fest, Cyanide 2024, hosted by the Chemical Engineering Department.
Chandigarh, February 22, 2024: Chandigarh: In line with the words of Benjamin Disraeli, "Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct; they are matters of education, and like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them," the Indian Plastics Institute (IPI) Student Chapter Chandigarh, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organised a successful cleanliness drive during the annual cultural fest, Cyanide 2024, hosted by the Chemical Engineering Department.
Led by Dr. Parveen Goyal, Program Coordinator of IPI, and Dr. Sonia Sharma, NSS Programme Officer, along with guidance from Dr. Gaurav Verma, Faculty Advisor of IPI, the cleanliness drive aimed to promote environmental sustainability and reduce plastic waste within the college premises and parking area.
On February 22nd, 2024, at 10:00 AM, enthusiastic members from both organizations gathered at the UICET Department Ground to participate in the initiative. Armed with gloves and garbage bags, they diligently worked to handpick plastic waste littering the surroundings, ensuring that the campus not only became cleaner but also served as a beacon of positivity for all.
Dr. Parveen Goyal, expressing his thoughts on the event, stated, "As responsible citizens, we must maintain cleanliness and preserve the environment for future generations. Through initiatives like this, we can create a lasting impact and promote a culture of sustainability."
Dr. Sonia Sharma emphasized the importance of community involvement, saying, "By coming together for a common cause, we showcase the power of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. Let this drive inspire others to take proactive steps towards a cleaner, greener future."
Dr. Gaurav Verma applauded the efforts of all participants and emphasized the need for continued dedication to environmental conservation. "Our actions today shape the world of tomorrow. Let us strive to cultivate a habit of cleanliness and responsible waste management in our daily lives," he remarked.
