Cleanliness drive for religious places by PHD Chamber

PHD Chamber of Commerce& Industry has taken up a special cleanliness mission to strengthen prime minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Waste-to-Compost machines will be installed at important shrines under this mission. The main objective is to provide sustainable solution to clean the places of worship. The machine will reprocess the flowers and other bio-degradable waste within the premises and will convert them into compost which has good fertilizing property for the fields.

Chamber’s Tourism Committee Chairman, Mukesh Gupta announced at ‘International Agrihorti Tech’ in Lucknow that these machines will be installed at Gorakhnath Math, Gorakhpur, Vishwanath Temple, Durga Temple and Sankat Mochan temple in Benaras, and Banke Bihari Temple of Vrindavan. Corporate and PSUs would support the initiative with their CSR fund.

People’s sentiments are attached with the flowers which they offer at holy places. When these flowers turn waste and are thrown into river or garbage by the temple management, it hurts faith of the people. LalitKhaitan, Chairman of Chamber’s Uttar Pradesh Committee, said that rivers pollute when these flowers are thrown into them. By processing the entire flower waste, the Green Waste Reprocessor machines will play an important role in cleaning the holy places, thereby will offer a good support to Swachh Bharat Mission.
