Climate Change, War and Violence threat to existence of human life
School children at a Summer Camp at Maya Nagar Gurudwara to plant trees and maintain social harmony
Ludhiana, June 11, 2022: Interacting with the school children in a Summer Camp at Shri Guru Nanak Gurudwara, Maya Nagar, Ludhiana, Dr Arun Mitra- Senior Vice President Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) cautioned that ongoing environmental degradation has led to serious climate change which has now become a threat to the very existence of human kind. This needs to be combated by a collective effort with global outlook and local actions. It is imperative to maintain social harmony for collective work. Planting trees the biggest task that the children can perform as their contribution. Ongoing violence and war in different parts of the country pose serious threat to the life and in such situations it is the children who are worst effected. Students ask several questions and expressed commitment to plant trees.
