CLS Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony held
Chandigarh Literary Society - CLS held the Annual prize distribution ceremony for its Annual Poetry Competition and Annual Short Story Writing Competition.
Chandigarh, September 27, 2024: Chandigarh Literary Society - CLS held the Annual prize distribution ceremony for its Annual Poetry Competition and Annual Short Story Writing Competition.
The competition was organized earlier this year inviting online entries and after being judged by a panel of judges, the winners were selected. People across India participated in the much-awaited competition. These hugely popular competitions attracted over 300+ entries, making this year’s edition a grand success. Dr. Sumita Misra, IAS Chairperson, Chandigarh Literary Society congratulated the award winners and gave away the prizes.
The Chairperson of Chandigarh Literary Society, Dr. Sumita Misra, IAS, said, “The competitive spirit and extraordinary talent showcased in this year’s poetry and short story competitions have been truly inspiring. The remarkable entries we received highlight the importance of literature in shaping our society and the necessity of honing one's creative talents. The theme for the poetry competition was Shades of Life and entries were invited in Hindi, English, and Punjabi. In English Poetry Dr. Deviyani Singh secured the first position, Harleen Kaur stood second and Renu Sud Sinha stood at third position. In Hindi Ritu Bhanot took the first position, Suneet Madan in the second position, and Rashmi Chowdhary stood at the third position. The first position in Punjabi poetry was secured by Navpreet Kaur, Parveen Malik in the second position and Saleem Mohammed stood at the third position.
In the short story writing competition Ratna Prabha secured the first position followed by Chandrika R Krishnan in the second position, and Anjali Singh, in the third position. In Hindi Dheerja Sharma secured the first position followed by Ojasvi Aggarwal in the second position, and Rajinder Kaur Sarao in the third position.
The winning entries were read out and were highly appreciated by the audience. The Award Partner for the event, English Book Depot provided CLS with vouchers, which were presented to the winners along with gift hampers and certificates. The judges for the competition - Vijay Kapoor, Seema Gupta, Sonika Sethi and Prem Vij also graced the occasion and shared their thoughts.
