RDERS TIGHT VIGIL, 24X7 CONTROL ROOM TO CHECK SPREAD OF DISEASE
Chandigarh, July 30, 2018: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced Rs.2 lakh each as ex-gratia for the families of the seven persons who have died due to diarrhea in Hoshiarpur.
He has also asked the Additional Chief Secretary Health to closely monitor the situation and further intensify efforts to control the disease. The Chief Minister has directed the ACS Health to work closely with Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur, to effectively check the spread of the disease.
According to an official spokesperson, the Chief Minister has ordered the Deputy Commissioner to direct the local Civil Surgeon to set up a 24X7 control room, besides issuing detailed instructions to the Municipal Corporation, Hoshiarpur, to ensure proper remedial measures to check the contamination of water.
He has ordered the concerned officials to maintain a tight vigil on the ground to prevent the disease from affecting more people.
