CM inaugurates World Skill Campus of Excellence & Renovated ITI & MSDC 

Vikramjit Singh Sahney, the Campus will provide Skill Training and Jobs to 3,000 Youth Annually  Ludhiana, April 3, 2025: The World Skill Campus of Excellence spread across 20 acres in the heart of Ludhiana and the newly renovated Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and Multi Skill Development Centre  was inaugurated by Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Chief Minister and Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab on Thursday. The 20-acre campus which has the capacity to provide skill training and facilitate job placements for over 3,000 students annually.

Ludhiana, April 3, 2025: The World Skill Campus of Excellence spread across 20 acres in the heart of Ludhiana and the newly renovated Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and Multi Skill Development Centre  was inaugurated by Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Chief Minister and Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab on Thursday. The 20-acre campus which has the capacity to provide skill training and facilitate job placements for over 3,000 students annually.

Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Padma Shri, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha has adopted and mentored ITI Ludhiana and has contributed Rs. 2 Crores from his MPLAD fund and additional Rs. 70 Lakhs by his own to upgrade and modernize ITI – Ludhiana. The upgrades include cutting-edge technology such as Robotic Welders, 3D Printing Machines, CNC Machines etc., digital classrooms with Audio-Video set ups and advanced training Labs. 

While speaking on the occasion Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Chief Minister, lauded the contribution of Dr. Sahney and said today Punjab has achieved a new milestone in the field of education. He said the Punjab government has launches a massive campaign against the drug abuse and ensuring that the Punjabi youth gets quality education in Punjab and also employment. 

He added Punjabis have the skills and can set an example by excelling in different fields. 

Dr. Sahney also spent Rs. 2.5 Crores out of his pocket on capital expenditure to set up Miulti Skill Development Skill Centre  of Excellence. This facility will provide total free of charge Skill Courses to the youth in disciplines like Artificial Intelligence, Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism, Agriculture Skill Development, Fashion Designing, Beauty and Wellness, Nursing, CNC Programming, Electrician, Welding, and other courses accredited by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). 

Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, said industries had been suffering from stagnation, there was brain drain from the state, but the campaign initiated by the government to provide skills to the youth will yield good results. He added the industrialists have also played a key role and have assured that 5000 youth will be given jobs every year. 

Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab, while speaking on the occasion today Ludhiana has got the best ITI and lauded the initiative of Dr. Sahney. He said earlier only 50-60 percent seats were being filling up in ITIs but the government has now ensured 97 percent admission rate despite increasing the number of seats every year.
