CM lays foundation stone of C-PYTE Centre at Kheri (Sunam)
In order to open new vistas of employment for the youth in the Armed forces, Police and Para Military Forces, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday laid the foundation Stone of Centre for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE) to come up at a cost of around Rs.29 crore.
Kheri (Sunam), July 31, 2024: In order to open new vistas of employment for the youth in the Armed forces, Police and Para Military Forces, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday laid the foundation Stone of Centre for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE) to come up at a cost of around Rs.29 crore.
The Chief Minister said that C-PYTE centre will come over 10 acres of land and will help in inculcating self discipline, spirit of national integration, secularism and work culture besides imparting skills for making youth employable in various fields. He said that it is the only institution of its type in the country which imparts training to youth for joining the Armed forces, CAPF and police along with free Boarding and Lodging. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that 14 C-PYTE Camps have been established in different districts of Punjab from where so far 2.52 lakh 656 youth have got training and 1,14,670 youth have successfully got jobs.
The Chief Minister said that to further strengthen the organization this new camp will come up at Kheri with modern and state of art facilities, dormitories, classrooms, dining facilities, modern sports field and many other facilities. He said that in addition to this the state government has decided to upgrade and modernize with addition of classrooms and other facilities at all the 14 C- PYTE camps. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for this purpose, a total Budget of Rs. 78.50 Crore has been allocated adding that never before in the 34 years history of C-PYTE, have such efforts been made by any government for the youth of Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that C-PYTE is now also commencing training of Punjab youth in drones, security services and excavator training. He said that will be followed by establishment of the Centre of Excellence in Drone training, repair and assembly, at one of the C-PYTE Camp. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these efforts will greatly benefit the youth of Punjab and will result in greater employment and development of the youth of the state adding that major beneficiaries of CPYTE camps are the rural poor, SC/BC and unemployed youth.
