Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday evening visited the area of Khaniyara under Dharmsala sub division of Kangra district where unprecedented cloudburst and flash floods damaged the public property yesterday.

Dharamsala, September 3, 2022: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday evening visited the area of Khaniyara under Dharmsala sub division of Kangra district where unprecedented cloudburst and flash floods damaged the public property yesterday. The Chief Minister took stock of the situation and reviewed the relief measures.

He inspected the entire area along with the district administration and revenue team and interacted with the affected families.

The Chief Minister directed the local administration to assess the property loss immediately so that admissible compensation could be provided to affected families.

The Chief appealed to the people to take precautions keeping in view the unprecedented monsoon.

MLA Dharamsala Vishal Nehria, DC Nipun Jindal, SDM Shilpi Beakta and other officers were also present at the incident site with the Chief Minister.

It is noteworthy that due to heavy rains on Friday, two shops, two houses and three kiosks have been completely damaged in Khanyara.  Besides 15 houses, three shops have been partially damaged. Apart from this, 45 sheep and goats are missing.
