CMC begins its four day conference with eminent scholars from worldwide coming to Ludhiana
Ludhiana, April 5, 2019: After a magnificent Inauguration Ceremony and Welcoming Dinner, CMC began its four day conference on 5th April with eminent scholars from worldwide coming to Ludhiana to address the young minds of the college. Keynote Speakers included, Dr.Prashant Mathur (ICMR) giving a lecture on Ideas to Combat Non-Communicable Diseases; Dr.Atul Mehta (Cleveland Clinic) who spoke on “Making It” in Medicine; Dr.Tarlok Purewal (USA)who addressed the topicEthical Guidelines for Physicians as recommended by American College of Physicians; Dr.J S Thakur spoke on Non-Communicable Diseases among Youth and Key Interventions; Mr.Rajinder Gupta from Trident Group who delivered a motivational talk. The conference theme is Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). NCDs hold the dubious distinction of being the number one killer worldwide and the conference aims atimparting to the students,the right set of knowledge and skill to combat the same. Along with these lectures, the college had also organised a workshop on Basic Life Support which was certified by the American Heart Association. This workshop was conducted by Inscol Group in which students gained a hands-on experience of Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation on adults and children. A workshop on Diabetes - Hormonics, was also conducted for the students under the guidance of Dr Jubbin Jacob, Professor and Head, Endocrine Unit at CMC. Other renowned faculty who came to CMC for the workshop included Dr Emmy Grewal, Dr Priyanka Bhat, Dr Devender Singh Bhat, Dr Mudita Dhingra. The Congress also offered delegates a chance to present their research at Research Paper presentation, the winner of which received the unique opportunity to attend a two week observership to Cleveland Clinic. Various other academic and cultural events were conducted which included Quiz, Debate, Movie Making , Painting Competition and many more.
