CMC Observed the ORS Week

Ludhiana, July 29, 2018: Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana observed the ORS Week from 23rd to 29th July, 2018 on the theme of “ORS All the day, Keeps Dehydration at bay” by College of Nursing, Child Health Nursing and Paediatric Medicine Department.

Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Reena Jairus appreciated the work of students.

Dr.Gurmeet Kaur, Unit Head of Paediatric medicine, spoke on topic of prevention of Diarrhea. Mrs.Premlata Prakash, Associate Prof. spoke on topic prevention of Dehydration. Students of B.Sc 3rd year gave demonstration on Hand-washing and Homemade preparation of ORS and uses of ORS.

Poster Exhibition was also conducted by nursing students. Judges for poster competition were Dr. Monika of Pediatric Medicine department, Prof. (Mrs) Seema Barnabas, College of Nursing and Associate Prof. Mrs. Suman Kumar, College of Nursing. Prizes were sponsored by Ludhiana Academy of Pediatrics. In Pediatric Medicine ward, different activities like role play, demonstrations and video assisted teaching were conducted for patients and relatives regarding uses of ORS during the whole week (23rd to 28th july, 2018).
