CMC Vardhman Rehabilitation Centre inaugurated at Christian Medical College & Hospital 

Ludhiana, October 10, 2022: The CMC Vardhman Rehabilitation Centre was inaugurated at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana on 8th October. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Surabhi Malik, Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana. 

The Vardhman Group have been supporting CMC Ludhiana over the last many years and this is one of the projects he chose to support understanding the huge need in this part of the country.

The CMC Vardhman Rehabilitation Centre, which has been completed with the generous contribution of the Vardhman group offers complete holistic disability management of patients and management of complications caused by Stroke, Traumatic brain injury, Spinal cord injury and other neurological disorders with utilization of physical agents like heat, cold and electricity along with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sensory equipment, electrotherapy & also help in restoration of patient’s activities of daily living, mobility and reintegration with the community with near normal quality of life. All these facilities are now available in Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana under one roof along with an Artificial Limb Centre that fabricates external appliances to correct or support disabilities and makes artificial limbs for the parts that were amputated surgically or congenitally for lower and upper limbs.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Surabhi Malik congratulated the administration for starting such a unique facility. She emphasized that this will be very useful for not only the people of Punjab but for people in the neighbouring states as well. These facilities will help in improving the overall quality of life of suffering patients.

 
S. P. Oswal, Chairman and Head of the Vardhman Group, congratulated CMC for the completion of this project and mentioned that the CMC Vardhman Rehabilitation Centre facility is equipped with all the recent equipments required for the successful rehabilitation of patients to help them lead a near normal life, where they are able to perform their day-to-day activities. He appealed to the people of Punjab to make maximum use of the facilities.

Dr William Bhatti, Director CMC said the facility of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation along with the Artificial Limb Centre are fully equipped, state of the art facility within CMC and extremely accessible to anybody who wishes to avail this facility. He thanked S P Oswal and the entire Vardhman group for making this possible through their generous contribution to CMC for making this dream possible. 

Dr Jeyaraj D. Pandian (Principal, Medical College), Dr Loganathan (Consultant & Head-PMR), Dr Allen Joseph (Medical Superintendent) and Dr Joseph John (Associate MS) were among those present on the occasion.
