CME on ‘Child & Adolescent Psychiatry’ held
Ludhiana, February 16, 2019: Department of Psychiatry, DMCH in association with Indian Psychiatry Society today organized a CME on ‘Child & Adolescent Psychiatry’. The conference was well attended by 200 delegates from various parts of the region. The conference was formally inaugurated by Guests of Honour-Dr BL Goyal and Dr RL Narang (Former Professor & Head, Department of Psychiatry, DMCH). Chief Organizer & Co-ordinator- Dr Ranjive Mahajan extended warm welcome to the delegates and dignitaries present on the occasion. In his message, Dr Ranjive Mahajan that the purpose of conducting the conference is to update participant delegates in the field of ‘Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’ Co-organizing Chairman- Dr Navkiran Mahajan said that child & adolescent psychiatry is the need of the hour as it focuses on diagnosing and treating behavioral and thought disorders in children for their balanced growth. She gave an elaborate lecture on ‘normal development of child’ Organizing Secretary & President, PUNCIPS- Dr Rupesh Chaudhary proposed a vote of thanks to the participating delegates and dignitaries present on the occasion. In his message, Dr Rupesh Chaudhary said that scientific sessions during the conference will touch latest update in the field of child & adolescent psychiatry .He acknowledged the contribution of DMCH Managing Society in providing state-of-art facilities to Department of Psychiatry in offering ultramodern care to the patients. The CME started with lectures on ‘Evaluation of Child in Clinical Psychiatry’ by Dr Ruchita and Dr Akhilesh from PGIMER, Chandigarh followed by lectures on ‘Management in ASD’ by Dr Priti Arun, Dr Shivangi Mehta,Dr Deepti Raina and Ms Archana Sharma from GMC Chandigarh, ‘Behavioral Addictions in Children and Adolescents’ by Dr Rachana Bhargav from AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr John Vinay Sagar from NIMHANS, Banglaore and Dr Parvesh Batra from PGI, Rohtak spoke on ‘Evaluation and management of Child with Intellectual Disability’ and ‘Evaluation and management of Child with ADHD’.
