CME on ‘Deceased Organ Donation’ to be held on Jan 20
Ludhiana, January 18, 2019: Departments of Urology, Nephrology and Transplant, DMCH, Ludhiana, in association with Regional Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (ROTTO) of PGIMER, Chandigarh will be organizing a CME on ‘Deceased Organ Donation’ on 20th January in LT 1 of Dumra Auditorium, DMCH, Ludhiana. Secretary Prem Kumar Gupta said the conference will go a long way in enhancing the knowledge and expertise of participating delegates in advancement in organ resuscitation, recovery, preservation, and transplantation techniques. Principal Dr Sandeep Puri lauded the efforts of organizing committee in holding such conference as experts from PGI, Chandigarh and other reputed institutions will be conducting scientific lectures. Organizing Chairperson-Dr Sandeep Sharma (Professor & Head of Urology) that Deceased organ Donation is the process of giving an organ or a part of an organ, at the time of the donor's death, for the purpose of transplantation to another person to save their life. Organizing Secretaries-Dr Vikas Makkar (Professor & Head of Nephrology) and Dr Ravi Angral (Sr. Renal Transplant Surgeon) said that Organ donation from deceased donors is gaining momentum in India and it is time to take this programme further to help thousands of patients with organ failure get a second chance at life.
