CME on Sepsis organised at DMC&H

To commemorate World Sepsis Day, the Dept. of Microbiology, DMC&H   organized a CME, with the aim to raise awareness and unite all stakeholders in the fight against sepsis. This CME emphasized the need for timely diagnosis and management of sepsis.

CME on Sepsis organised at DMC&H

Ludhiana, September 13, 2023: To commemorate World Sepsis Day, the Dept. of Microbiology, DMC&H   organized a CME, with the aim to raise awareness and unite all stakeholders in the fight against sepsis. This CME emphasized the need for timely diagnosis and management of sepsis.
 

Various lectures were presented by eminent speakers on topics like "MDR Bugs in Indian ICUs" by Dr Vikas Suri, Professor, Internal Medicine, PGIMER; "Tackling Sepsis- Clinical Microbiologist Aiding a Clinician" by Dr Vikas Gautam, Professor, Medical Microbiology, PGIMER; and "Management of Sepsis" by Dr Lakshmi Narayana Yaddanapudi, Prof. & Head Anaesthesia, PGIMER.
 

A panel discussion was also conducted by Dr. PL Gautam, Professor and Head, Critical Care, DMC&H, and clinical cases were presented by PG residents of DMC&H. An awareness talk for MBBS students was also conducted by Dr. Veenu Gupta, Head, Microbiology, DMC&H.
 

Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, commended the efforts of the department.
 

Dr. Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMC&H, said that residents and consultants should be aware of the signs and symptoms of sepsis so they can better diagnose their patients.

 
Dr Veenu Gupta, Prof. & Head Microbiology, said that the DMC&H has latest facilities for diagnosis like sepsis markers, fungal biomarkers, syndromic multiplex PCR and automated culture and sensitivity testing.
 
Around 100 delegates attended the CME, including consultants and residents from DMC&H, CMC Hospital, SPS Hospital, Deep Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana, etc.
