CMR Institute of Technology Launches “Police Marshals” Program in Collaboration with Bengaluru City Police and Aarohan Foundation

In a significant initiative aimed at combating drug abuse, tobacco, alcohol, and cybercrime, CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT), in association with Bengaluru City Police and Aarohan Foundation, launched the "Police Marshals" program at the Dhwani auditorium on the CMRIT campus. Over 100 students took a pledge to actively participate in raising awareness and tackling these societal challenges.

Bengaluru, September 23, 2024: In a significant initiative aimed at combating drug abuse, tobacco, alcohol, and cybercrime, CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT), in association with Bengaluru City Police and Aarohan Foundation, launched the "Police Marshals" program at the Dhwani auditorium on the CMRIT campus. Over 100 students took a pledge to actively participate in raising awareness and tackling these societal challenges. 


The event was graced by Dr. B Narasimha Murthy, Vice Principal, CMRIT, Rohini C K, Assistant Commissioner of Police, CEN Police Station, Whitefield Division, Azheruddin, Police Inspector, HAL Police Station, Manisha Bhatt, Founder Director, Aarohan Foundation and Vinay, Director, Aarohan Foundation. Dr. Rakshita Ramesh Kamath, Consultant ENT Surgeon, Dr.Fazlur Rahaman Chief Coordinator for Anti-Drug Cell from CMRIT.


Addressing the audience, Rohini emphasized the role of students in curbing drug abuse and cybercrime, stating that "citizens can be police without uniforms." Azheruddin further elaborated on the growing challenges of drug abuse and cybercrime, highlighting the crucial role the student community plays in spreading awareness.


The Police Marshals program marks a significant step toward empowering youth to act as ambassadors for a safer society.
