Bangalore, September 28, 2024: The School of Management at CMR University has successfully conducted the 2nd International Conference on Driving Innovative Digital Transformation and Economic Sustainability (ICODES 2024) in association with The University of Western São Paulo, The University College of Bahrain, EuroMid Academy of Business & Technology, Harvard Business School Publishing, Institute of Product leadership, ISDC Global and key industry associations like ASSOCHAM and BCIC.


The two-day event, held at the university's campus, attracted a diverse group of experts, researchers, and policymakers from India and across the globe. The conference focused on three pivotal Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13 - Climate Action.


Vice Chancellor Dr. H.B. Raghavendra welcomed the delegates and guests to the conference. He also conveyed the relevance of the conference's theme in the current times and suggested bringing it into discussion for further deliberations and Interactions.


Manivannan P, Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka, inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, Sri. Manivannan highlighted the critical role of equality in fostering innovation. He emphasized that true development and progress are achieved not only through technology and money but by promoting values such as equality, fraternity, and liberty. “Without embracing the spirit of equality, marginalized individuals will hesitate to express their thoughts,” he said, adding that inclusive innovation is essential for the future.


Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy, IPS (Retd) Chairman CMR University and CMR Group of Institutions and Former Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha presided at ICODES 2024 inaugural. He expressed his appreciation for being part of the conference. He remarked on the importance of integrating sustainable practices with innovative digital transformation to achieve long-term economic sustainability. "These practices are vital for our everyday lives and essential for the progress of our nation and the world Keynote address was delivered by Dr Cleopatra Veloutsou, Professor of Brand Management - Adam Smith Business School - University of Glasgow.

Other notable attendees included Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay, Director of JAGSoM and Vice Chancellor of Vijaybhoomi University, Dr. H.B. Raghavendra, Vice Chancellor of CMR University, and Dr. Rajat Gera, Conference General Chair and Dean and Director of the School of Management at CMR University.  


Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay emphasized the linkages between SDG8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG12 - Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG13 - Climate Action, and the need for coordinated action to tackle the challenges of economic growth and sustainable consumption. Keynote and guest speakers at Plenary session were Manoj Pasangha -President & Dy-CEO, IIFL Samasta Ltd, Dr. Shivaprakash A Ramaswamy, Adjunct Professor and India Coordinator, Virginia Commonwealth University, USA, Dr Saurav Dixit, Pro Vice Chancellor Research, Chitkara University and Dr Gul Erkol Bayram, Professor (Associate) and Vice-Dean in Tourism Faculty, University of Sinop.


ICODES 2024 saw the active participation of over 469 delegates from India and abroad, with more than 250 research papers accepted for presentation presenters from both national and international spheres. The event was conducted in both online and offline modes, making it accessible to a global audience.


The conference provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, with sessions focused on innovative approaches to digital transformation, economic sustainability, and climate action. The discussions aimed to explore new strategies for integrating technology into economic growth while ensuring responsible consumption and mitigating climate impacts.


To honor their contributions, distinguished guests were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation from CMR University.
