CMR University Students Plant 200+ Saplings to Observe Van Mahotsav 2023
CMR University, a leading educational institution committed to sustainable practices, recently celebrated the 2023 Van Mahotsav by planting over 200 saplings at its Lakeside Campus in Bagalur. The event was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance. It was organized by the CMRU Office of Student Affairs (OSA).
Bengaluru, July 8, 2023: CMR University, a leading educational institution committed to sustainable practices, recently celebrated the 2023 Van Mahotsav by planting over 200 saplings at its Lakeside Campus in Bagalur. The event was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance. It was organized by the CMRU Office of Student Affairs (OSA).
Under the theme "Greening Our Future" students and faculty members along with National Cadet Corps volunteers gathered at the CMRU Lakeside Campus to contribute to the noble cause. The saplings, carefully selected to thrive in the local ecosystem, included a variety of native tree species known for their environmental benefits.
Dr. Babu Devasenapati, Director-OSA, said, “CMR University is committed to contribute to the conservation of natural resources, the mitigation of climate change, and the overall enhancement of the local ecosystem. Along with adoption and maintenance of the Bagalur Lake, we want to foster a culture of sustainability through upkeep of the local environment.”
By planting these saplings, CMR University continues its dedication to fostering a greener and more sustainable environment. CMRU has recently received an A+ Grade Diamond Band in the latest Green Rankings for 2023 issued by Sustainable Institutions of India (SII).
