CMRIT Students Shine at Smart India Hackathon 2024
Students from CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) have showcased their innovative prowess at the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, organized by the Government of India. Among over 1,300 teams that participated from across the country, CMRIT demonstrated exceptional talent and competitiveness, earning a prestigious position as a standout institution with five teams shortlisted for the grand finale.

Bengaluru, December 27, 2024: Students from CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) have showcased their innovative prowess at the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, organized by the Government of India. Among over 1,300 teams that participated from across the country, CMRIT demonstrated exceptional talent and competitiveness, earning a prestigious position as a standout institution with five teams shortlisted for the grand finale.
Team Pact from CMRIT emerged victorious under the "Student Innovation" category, presented by the AICTE-MIC Innovation Cell. The team secured a cash prize of ₹50,000. Their project, an AI-powered application designed to simplify complex End User License Agreements (EULAs) and Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) into user-friendly summaries, was lauded for its practicality and creativity. The solution also features an overlay function, enhancing clarity and transparency for app users.
In a stellar display of innovation and teamwork, Team Pact, comprising students from the CSE, ISE, and ECE departments—Bhaavan Prabhakar (Team Lead), Ashwin Jose Thomas, Celia Rose Thomas, Christopher Mark D’Souza, GLK Abhiram Reddy, and Abhay Margabandhu—secured a top position under the "Student Innovation" category at SIH 2024. The team was guided by their mentor, Navaneetha M, Assistant Professor, whose expert guidance played a pivotal role in their success.
CMRIT's other teams also demonstrated exceptional performance, addressing critical challenges such as marine oil spill detection and judicial process efficiency. These innovative solutions underscore the institution's dedication to fostering socially impactful and technologically advanced projects.
This remarkable achievement further cements CMRIT’s reputation as a hub of technological excellence, creativity, and problem-solving, showcasing its commitment to nurturing future leaders and innovators in the tech industry.
