Set in the beautiful locales of Ujjain, ‘Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak’ revolves around Rajneesh and Poornima, whose lives intertwine with a love that goes beyond death. Rajneesh, a young and adventurous medical student, lives by logic but believes in the almighty, and his carefree charm masks a mind that questions everything. Poornima, a simple village girl near Ujjain, tends to her family, bearing the weight of poverty and responsibility as she runs her flower shop. Their worlds couldn't be more different, yet kismet binds them in an everlasting union, but a fatal car accident threatens to separate them forever. Will their love survive the inevitability of death?
1. Tell us something about the show 'Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak'.
A. In the picturesque vistas of Ujjain, 'Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak' unfolds an extraordinary love story inspired by true events and based on reincarnation. It follows Rajneesh, a city-bred medical student, and Poornima, a strong-willed girl from a rural village. Their love, despite their diverse backgrounds, unites them in an unbreakable bond, guided by fate's hand. The plot thickens with a fatal car accident that poses a threat to their togetherness. The narrative hinges on the question of who survives this tragic event and keeps their love immortalized.
2. Tell us about your character in the show.
A. Poornima, the character I'm portraying, has resilience, grace, and strength. She's a simple girl from a humble village near Ujjain, her roots firmly grounded in her beliefs. She carries a weight far beyond her years, shouldering the responsibility of caring for an ill mother and a younger sibling while navigating the harsh realities of poverty. Despite the hardships, she stands tall, running a flower shop outside a temple. Each day brings its own set of challenges and amid the routine of her demanding life, an unexpected twist awaits her.
3. What does it feel like to be part of a story inspired by real-life incidents and based on Al Raines’ novel ‘November Rain’?
A. Being part of a story inspired by the novel 'November Rain' is really exciting. The novel has touched many readers with its deep and brilliant storytelling. Being part of real-life stories brings extra responsibility for me to make my portrayal authentic. It's not just about playing a character; it's about respecting the experiences of real people who went through those events.
4. What made you say yes to the show?
A. I decided to step aboard ‘Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak’ because Poornima's character felt real and inspiring to me. She's a simple girl facing tough challenges, yet she remains strong and graceful. Poornima is like those everyday heroes whose stories often go untold. Her journey that’s full of struggles and surprises, fascinated me. Her story feels genuine but also has an element of fate, which really touched me. I feel honoured to bring her character to life on screen — to show her strength, hope, and indomitable spirit.
5. How did you prepare for this role?
A. Being in the shoes of a humble florist outside Ujjain, carrying the weight of her family's livelihood, has been an incredibly moving journey. This character embodies the unsung heroes we often overlook—those who tackle daily challenges to provide for their loved ones. She is resilient, selfless, and the backbone of her family. I've spent time in small villages, absorbing the atmosphere, observing everyday life, and connecting with individuals whose stories resonate with this character. It's about capturing the essence of someone who fulfils the responsibility of providing for her family. I read quite a lot about reincarnation and the script of the show several times to understand how I can enliven Poornima onscreen with everything I have.
6. How was your experience shooting in Ujjain and coming back to it for the promotion of the show?
A. Ujjain wasn't just a shooting spot; it became the beating heart of our narrative, lending authenticity to the storyline and making my experience more special. Every nook and corner of this city exuded a charm and felt like a living storybook. The city's ambience, its streets, and its ancient sites breathed life into our scenes. Coming to Ujjain for promotions feels incredibly special and heartwarming. It's like returning to a place that holds a piece of our show's soul.
7. The show's promo has generated a lot of excitement. What was your reaction to seeing all the appreciation?
A. As an actor, there's nothing quite as rewarding as receiving appreciation from the audience for a project. I was genuinely touched by the staggering number of reshares the teaser garnered and the heartfelt messages from my family and friends. This kind of love inspires me to give all to a project and entertain the viewers through a story worth their time.
8. How is your equation with your co-actors?
A. Working alongside immensely talented actors such as Pankaj Berry Sir, Jyoti Gauba, Pallavi Rao, and Karamm Rajpal, among others, has truly been an exhilarating and enriching experience. Witnessing their dedication and passion for the project has been nothing short of inspiring, propelling me to bring my best to the table. Karamm is a very supportive co-actor, and we bring out the best in each other. I can’t wait to know what the viewers think of us as a fresh pair. I count myself fortunate to have formed a bond with my co-stars during our time on the shoot.
9. Lastly, what would you like to say to your fans and the viewers eagerly awaiting your presence in ‘Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak’?
