Commissionerate Police issue various ban orders to maintain law and order
The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday issued various prohibitory orders to maintain the law and order in the city.
Ludhiana, May 17, 2023: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday issued various prohibitory orders to maintain the law and order in the city.
Exercising the powers vested under Section 144, Code of criminal Procedure, 1973, Joint Commissioner of Police Saumya Mishra ordered the owners of all fuel stations, LPG Gas Agencies, Marriage places, Malls and Money Exchanges falling under the jurisdiction of Police Commissionerate to install CCTV cameras within 15-days to ensure security and safety of residents.
In another order under section 144 of the CRPC, Mishra also banned carrying of sand in open by the tractor-trolleys drivers and ordered that sand should be properly covered by them otherwise it can cause mishaps. She also banned the use of logos belonging to Army, Police, and VIPs by private vehicles. She said that use of such kind of logos by private persons completely illegal and action will be taken against the violators.
The Joint Commissioner of Police also said that criminal action will be taken against those found drinking alcohol on roadsides and in public places. She said that there were several cases of fights on roads due to drinking in open. Accidents were also reported due to alcohol consumption. She said that anyone found drinking alcohol in public places would be punished under the law.
In separate order, Mishra has also imposed a ban on the loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am in the limit of police commissionerate.
These orders will remain effective for the next two months.
