Commissionerate Police launch CASO, lodge 18 FIRs, arrest 34 and seize heroin, charas, intoxicant tablets

Carrying out a cordon and search operations (CASO) under Punjab government's Yudhh Nashya Virudhh program to make state a drug-free, the Commissionerate Police today raided drug hotspots and lodged 18 FIRs besides arresting 34 persons and seizing narcotics.

Ludhiana, March 1, 2025: Carrying out a cordon and search operations (CASO) under Punjab government's Yudhh Nashya Virudhh program to make state a drug-free, the Commissionerate Police today raided drug hotspots and lodged 18 FIRs besides arresting 34 persons and seizing narcotics. 

The police have recovered 804-gm heroin, 1850 intoxicant tablets, 50 injections, 21-gm intoxicant powder, 700-gm charas and a car (PB01-E-0886). 

The operation was meticulously planned and supervised by senior police officials including   ADCPs, ACPs, SHOs and a heavy force  conducted at drug hotspot locations. The localities were sealed off as police teams conducted house-to-house searches. The operation was aimed to tighten the noose around drug peddlers and criminals. 

Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal led the CASO from the front and stated that the police have vowed to continue such intensive anti-drug operations to dismantle drug trade completely.

The CP further reaffirmed the Punjab Police  commitment to eradicating drug trafficking, stating, such operation against drug peddlers will continue unabated. He added that police have adopted a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ against drugs, under which he warned the drug traffickers to leave their drug business and return to the mainstream of the society, otherwise exemplary action will be taken against them.
