Commissionerate Police Ludhiana launched a drive eve-teasing: Defaulters taken to task by issuing challans & impounding vehicle

Ludhiana, April 24, 2025: In a major crackdown against trouble makers, Ludhiana Police, led by Commissioner of Police, Swapan Sharma, launched a drive to combat the menace of eve teasing near educational and recreational places. 21 police parties, led by Gazetted officers of Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana (including 3 Deputy Commissioners of Police) were deputed at various checkpoints spread across the area of Police Commissionerate Ludhiana. Intensive checking to combat eve teasing at these places led to a total of 436 challans and 9 vehicles getting impounded.
The drive was undertaken to instill a sense of safety and security among College and School goers alike, keeping in mind the interest of general public at large. The checkpoints were established near the schools, colleges and recreational places. Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, Swapan Sharma has laid emphasis on intensifying the checking further in the coming days.
