Compare parking rates in different locations of Mega City of Ludhiana: PPBM writes to Punjab LG Minister 

Ludhiana, November 22, 2022: Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) under the signatures of state general secretary Sunil Mehra and district general secretary Ayush Aggarwal have written to Minister for Local Government Punjab Inderbir Singh Nijjar regarding urgent need to compare parking rates in different locations of Mega City of Ludhiana as different rates of the parking are charged by the contractors of the parking which is clearly violation of rules and regulations of the parking concept 
in the city.

Giving further details, they said they have apprised the minister that the PPBM members are using the parking stops of their vehicles i.e., scooters, cars daily on their arrival from different locations and are feeling great difficulty when every parking area contractor is charging different rates of every different vehicle which is a clear case of deficiency in service in Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana.

They pointed out that the PPBM members are business magnets and giving good revenue to the State of Punjab by way of GST/SGST but on the other hand they are being compelled to pay a heavy price for parking the vehicle in parking stops.
They further pointed out that despite their repeated efforts to advise the parking stop contractors of Municipal Corporation stoppage of Zone A (main location of near Municipal Corporation Ludhiana), nobody is ready to listen their genuine grievances.

Adding, they said the customers visiting Ludhiana from outstations are compelled to pay hourly rates of parking which is great injustice to the owners of the vehicles as due to after-effects of pandemic business of State of Punjab is already on verge of elimination and unjust parking rates adds to the pockets of businessmen coming from outstations like Haryana, Delhi, and other areas of the state.

They alleged that parking contractors charge the unlawful amount for the delivery of the goods in parking lots purchased by the customers and businessmen from the local market especially in main location of Municipal Corporation Zone A, Mata Rani Road, Ludhiana. Such an unlawful and unjust behavior by the mafia contractors is intolerable by the people and local market area.  

They asserted that there is a dire need to affix nominal rates of the parking of all parking stops in Mega City of Ludhiana because nobody is ready to tolerate injustice shown by contractors of the parking stops.

Further, they apprised the minister that the services available in different parking stops is very much miserable and no lightning arrangement is properly available in parking stations especially in main location of Municipal Corporation Zone A (Mata Rani Chowk) which needs to be probed.

They requested the minister to look into the matter and take suitable action in the matter.
