Competitions and programs organised by cadets to mark 76th Foundation Day of NCC

Jalandhar, November 24, 2024: Under the aegis of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, several competitions and programs were organized in various educational institutions on the 76th NCC Foundation Day. Poster competitions were organized in various schools on the topics of Clean India, Environment, Salute to Martyrs, Pollution Measures and Contribution of Youth in Nation Building. Trees were planted by the cadets of CT Institute, Kendriya Vidyalaya 2 and 4 under the initiative of Ek Ped - Maa ke Naam.  Dr. (Lt.) Ahmed Hussain of DAV University and his 48 cadets donated blood to mark this day. Lieutenant Kuldeep Sharma of Mehar Chandra ITI conducted a 15 km cycle rally with cadets on the topic of Salute to the Martyrs of the Nation and paid tribute to Major Raman Dada Kirti Chakra posthumously. NCC flag hoisting and quiz competition were organized by CT Institute. The educational institutions that participated in various competitions and programs on NCC Foundation Day included Sai Das Senior Secondary School, Kendriya Vidyalaya 2 and 4, DAV University, State Public School, CT Institute and Mehar Chand ITI College.

On the 76th Foundation Day of NCC, Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer 2 Punjab Battalion NCC, Subedar Rajinder Singh and senior cadets paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the War Memorial and paid emotional tributes to the brave martyrs. Their supreme sacrifice for the security of the nation was remembered. Colonel Joshi said that a successful effort is made to inculcate a sense of dedication for the nation through personality development of young cadets. He further said that the objective of NCC is to prepare responsible citizens. Since it's inception in 1948, NCC is continuously contributing towards nation building with its motto Unity and Discipline. NCC prepares cadets to make their career in Indian Armed Forces as Commissioned Officers, Agniveer and other armed forces.
