COMPLETE DOMINATION OF DAVIET AT IKGPTU INTER ZONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL 2017

Jalandhar, November 13, 2017: DAVIET, once again won the Championship in IKG PTU Inter-Zonal Youth Festival which was organized from 10TH - 12TH November, 2017 at Gulzar Group of Institution, Khanna. DAVIETians also won the individual trophies in Literary, Theatre, Fine Arts, and Music and also the overall trophy to emerge victorious. The win marked the establishment of DAVIET as a techno-cultural hub of the Institutions affiliated to IKGPTU Jalandhar. The theme of the Inter zonal youth festival was Skill India. DAVIET set hard-to-emulate benchmarks for the competing teams and thus asserted its pervasive victory in the different categories of the top competition at the level of IKG Punjab Technical University.
The main highlights were the events of Mimicry, Quiz, Group Song Indian, On the Spot Painting, Collage Making, On the Spot Photography, folk song, Group Song Indian, cartooning, creative writing (essay and story writing) Skit, Classical Vocal Solo and Clay Modeling in all of which DAVIET won gold medals. Subeg Singh Bhogal and Urvashi Sharma were declared the Best Actor and Best Actress respectively. The DAVIET contingent was declared the overall winner as it comprehensively defeated the teams from the other colleges.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET, congratulated all the winners from the DAVIET contingent. He said that with this grand victory DAVIET has established its superiority in the cultural arena over other professional colleges affiliated to IKG PTU Jalandhar. He emphasized the fact that for the overall development of the budding technocrats, performance in academics as well as extracurricular activities is of paramount importance. He stated that DAVIET will always provide a platform to its students to showcase their skills in diverse literary, cultural and technical fields. He appreciated the hard work put in by the Cultural Officer, Ms. Risha Sharma, Mr Manpreet Singh Bedi, Mr. JS Dhillon, Mr Ashish Malhotra, Ms Rajinderveer Kaur, Mr Anand Bajaj, Dr. Narinder K. Sharma, Dr. PS Mann and all the faculty in-charges of various events for giving their best to realize the aim of winning the Inter-zonal Zonal Youth Festival trophy. He also appreciated the committed efforts of Sh. Sameer Sharma, Asstt. Director (Youth Affairs), IKG PTU, Jalandhar.
Notably, the event was also graced by the S. Charnjit Singh Channi, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister (GoP) and S. Yuriner Singh Hayer (IPS) joint director, Punjab Police Academy (PPA), Phillaur.
