Complete posting/transfers by February 20: instructs ECI

Chandigarh, February 10, 2019: Election Commission of India (ECI) today instructed the state government to complete posting/transfer process by February 20, 2019 regarding general elections 2019. Earlier the date for the posting/transfers has been fixed February 28, 2019 in the state of Punjab. Issuing a letter in this regard, ECI instructed the Punjab government to complete posting/transfer process of officers with respect to general election 2019. The letter reads, "now February 20, 2019 has been fixed to complete posting/transfers of officers and compliance report shall be submitted by February 25, 2019." It is pertinent to mention here that earlier ECI had fixed February 28, 2019 to complete the posting/transfer process and to submit compliance report by first week of March.
