Chandigarh, February 14, 2024: Equal Opportunity Cell for Persons with Disabilities, Panjab University proudly organized a comprehensive awareness program on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) aimed at fostering inclusivity and understanding within our academic community.
The event, held on 13-02-24, saw the esteemed Prof. Y P Verma, Registrar of University as the Guest of Honour, gracing the occasion with valuable insights and support. It also brought together more than 100 students, faculty, and experts to engage in meaningful discussions and activities to promote a more accessible and inclusive environment.
The program featured informative sessions by Raj Kumar Makkar, Former State Commissioner for PwDs, Haryana,in the presence of Registrar, Panjab University shedding light on the rights and challenges faced by persons with disabilities. Participants gained valuable insights into the provisions of the RPWD Act and how it empowers individuals with disabilities to lead a dignified life with equal opportunities.
